BIRTHDAY PARTY GAMES

FEED THE ELEPHANT
Set out a box.
Tape a picture of an elephants head sticking up from the back of the open box.
Set out some peanuts.
Let the children take turns tossing peanuts to the elephant.
Who can get the most peanuts in the box.
As a prize, children get to keep and eat the peanuts they got into the box.

PEEWEE BOWLING
Set out ten large empty plastic soda bottles in a triangle shape
Have children stand back about 5 feet and take turns rolling a large rubber ball towards the bottles.
Encourage everyone to count how many bottles fall down with each child’s turn.
For this game, I would probably only let each child have one roll per turn.

COLOR SPIN
Have your children sit in a circle.
Give each child a party hat, (red, blue, green, and yellow).
Set a small soda bottle in the middle of the circle.
Spin the bottle and see which child it points to.
Then give a small treat to all children wearing that same color of hat.
Keep spinning until all children have had at least one treat.

FISHING GAME
Make a small fishing pole with a stick, a string and a horseshoe magnet.
Make some paper fish shapes in four different colors. (Red, blue, green, yellow)
Attach a paper clip to the mouth of each fish.
Let your children take turns fishing.
Give children a small prize depending on the color of fish that they catch.

COLOR CORNERS
In one corner of a room or outside, place a piece of red paper.  Then put a blue piece in another corner, a yellow piece in another and finally a green piece in the last corner.
Tell your children to go stand in one of the four colored corners.  Children can choose which of the four corners they want to stand in.
Then place four small folded pieces of paper in a box.  Mix them up and draw one of the colored pieces of paper.
The children who are in that color area are safe, the rest of the children are out of the game and must sit down.
The safe children must then play the game again, going to any of the four colored corners.
Mix up all four colored papers again and draw out another paper.
All the children in the corner the same color as the paper draw are safe.
Continue the game until there is only one child left.
If the children want to play the game again, let the winner of the first game stay out of the game and help you draw out the colored papers.
