SCHOOL BUS ACTIVITIES

PRINTING BLACK WHEELS
Using the medium bus pattern, cut out 4-5 buses from yellow construction paper.
Next, give your child a circle stamp and a black ink pad. [You can make a circle stamp by cutting a circle from a small sponge.]
Have your child press the stamp onto the ink pad and then press it on the wheels of the buses.

Use the buses to decorate a wall or put sticky magnet tape on their backs and make refrigerator magnets.

PHOTO BUS
Using the large bus, cut out a large yellow bus shape for your child.
Help him draw 4-6 window panes on the bus with a black marker.
Let your child use the marker to color in the wheels.
Next, give him some old photos and let him cut off the heads of family and friends.
Finally, give him some glue and have him glue the heads in the windows of the bus.

COLOR PUZZLES
Using the medium or small bus pattern, cut out 4-6 buses from different colors of construction paper.
Print the name of the color on the bus using a black marking pen.
Next, cut the buses into two pieces in the middle of the color name. Such as; r/ed; bl/ue; yell/ow; gr/een; pur/ple and or/ange.
Mix up the colored pieces and let your child put the color bus puzzles back together again.

NAME TAGS
If working with groups of children, you can use the medium bus pattern to make name tags.
Cut buses out of yellow paper, add graphics if desired.
Write children's names on the bus shapes.

FELT BOARD FUN
Use the small pattern to cut out 4-5 yellow felt buses.
Add them one at a time to a felt board as you recite the following counting rhyme.

BUSES ON THE ROAD
One little bus out on the road,
It was carrying a heavy load.

It called for another bus to come,
Now there are two buses on this run.

Two little buses out on the road,
They were carrying heavy loads.

They called for another bus to come,
Now there are three buses on this run.
