DUCK SONGS AND GAMES

DUCK ACTION POEM
Recite the following poem and have your children join you one by one as they pretend to be the ducks in the poem.

One little duck, swimming in the sun.
She called another duck to join in the fun.

Two little ducks, swimming in the sun.
They called another duck to join in the fun.

Three little ducks, swimming in the sun.
They called another duck to join in the fun.

Four little ducks, swimming in the sun.
They called another duck to join in the fun.

Five little ducks, swimming in the sun.
Waddled ashore one by one.

One, two, three, four, five!

WADDLE, WADDLE, QUACK, QUACK
Have your children pretend they are ducks. Recite the following rhyme as they waddle around the room. Have them head back to you at the end of the rhyme.

Waddle, waddle, waddle,
Quack, quack, quack,
Waddle, waddle, waddle,
Now come back.

OVER IN THE BARNYARD
Have your children pretend to be ducks as they stand in a row, quacking while the farmer (you) comes to feed them. Pass out small bags of cereal for their snack.

Over in the barnyard
Early in the morning,
See the little ducks
Standing in a row.

See the busy farmer
Giving them their breakfast,
Quack, quack, quack, quack,
Off they go!

ALL AROUND THE BARNYARD
Sing the following song to the tune of “Ten Little Indians”.

Waddle, waddle, little duck,
Waddle, waddle, little duck.
Waddle, waddle, little duck,
All around the barnyard.

WHEN A YELLOW DUCK

When a yellow duck walks down the street,
He likes to quack and waddle his feet.
If he finds a pond he jumps right in.
And around he goes, for a swim!
