OPPOSITES –UP & DOWN / IN & OUT

UP & DOWN
Here are some simple suggestions for introducing your child to the concepts of “up and down”.
Sing “Eensy Weensy Spider”. Do hand motions.
Sit on the floor with your knees up. Have your child sit on your knees. Make your knees go up and down. Say the words as you do the motions.
Show your child how an umbrella goes “up & down”. Do the actions with the umbrella as your child says the words.
Play games where your child raises his hands up and then brings them down.

 
IN & OUT
Here are some simple suggestions for introducing your child to the concepts of “in and out”.
Place a plastic egg “in” a basket. Encourage yur child to take the egg “out”. Then place the egg back “in” the basket.
Build a blanket fort for your child to crawl in and out of.
Ask your child if she wants her shirt tucked in her pants or left out of her pants.
Do the “Hookey Pokey”.
Sing the song “Go In and Out the Window”.
