| CUTTING C’s |
| There is a number
of cutting activities that you can do when talking about the
letter C. |
|
Give your children large paper C’s and have them cut them
into 3-4 pieces, then glue them back on a piece of paper |
 |
Give children 1” strips of colorful construction paper and
have them cut corners off the strips, then glue the corners
on a large print out of the letter C. |
 |

| COLORING C’s
|
| |
Tape 2 or 3 crayons together and have your children draw
rainbow C’s on a piece of paper. |
|
Have children write C’s on a piece of paper with a white
or yellow crayon. Then have them paint over their C’s with a
blue wash. |
|
Cut out large construction paper C’s for your children using
the large C pattern. Have them color designs on their letter. |
|

| PLAY DOUGH
C’s |
 |
Give your children some play dough and show them how to roll
snakes and then turn them into the letter C. |
 |
Have children make a play dough birthday cake and then give
them some small candles to place on the top. |

| RUBBINGS |
 |
Let your children do rubbings of cracks on trees or sidewalks. |
 |
Using the medium C pattern cut out some cardboard C’s. Have
your children take turns laying a piece of paper over the C’s
and making rubbings with paperless crayons. |
 |
Do coin rubbings. |
| COLORING WITH CHALK |
 |
Have your children make C’s on the sidewalk with
colored chalk. |
 |
Let your children color with chalk on a chalkboard. |
 |
Color with chalk on paper that has been dampened with water. |
| DECORATING THE LETTER C |
| |
Cut out large C shapes for your children from
heavy paper and choose one of the suggestions below to decorate
them. |
| |
Let them spread glue on the shape and then sprinkle on corn
meal. |
| |
Let your children glue on corn kernels on their C’s. |
| |
Glue on small candles. |
 |
Stick on cat stickers. |
 |
Glue on Cheerios. |
| MAKING CHAINS |

Give your children 1” x 6” strips of paper. |
|
Have them write “C’s” on them, then make them into chains. |

Give children flat paper crowns. |

|
Have them draw C’s on their crown with glitter glue. |
| COUNTING COINS |

Set out a pile of coins. |

Have your children take turns counting or sorting the coins. |
| CARD GAMES |

Set out some card games for your children to
play. |

Stress that the word “cards” starts with the letter C.. |
| TOSSING GAME |

Set out some cups or some caps. |
 |
Have your children take turns tossing coins
(or cards) into the containers. |
| DRESS-UP AREA |
 |
Stock up your dress-up area with
lots of costumes. |
 |
Bring in things for your children to dress up like clowns. |
 |
Bring in C hats for your children; cowboy, clown, construction,
conductor. |
| CLOTHESPIN GAMES |
 |
Have children clip clothespins around the edge
of a non-sharp can. |
 |
Have children clip paper cups together with clothespins. |
 |
Have children drop clothespins into a can. |
| CARS ON THE CARPET |
 |
Let your children play with cars on the carpet. |
| COUNTING |
|
|
Give your children cups of C objects to count. |
| |
Examples; Cherrios, coins, crayons, cars,
candles, clothespins, cotton balls. |
| MATCHING GAMES |

Set out a large box of color crayons and have
your children search for color matches. |

Make alphabet cards, put in 3-4 C cards and then mix them
up. Have children search for C’s. |
| C MOVEMENTS |

Animal Movements - Have your children move like their favorite animal that starts with the letter C. |
COOKING |

There are a lot of foods you can cook with preschoolers
that start with the letter C. |

Make cornbread, cookies, or cupcakes. |

Serve celery sticks with cheese spread. |
 |
Serve crackers with cheese. |
 |
Serve corn on the cob. |
 |
Serve cucumbers on Cheese crackers. |

Clap to music |

Conduct music with a baton, keep the rhythm. |
