DISCOVERING CORN
Fall is a great time to explore the corn plant. Your children will be surprised at all the products that are made from corn.

GROWING CORN
Let your children plant some corn seeds in a small container of dirt.
Have your children set the container in the sun and water it every other day.

Variation: Place an ear of Indian corn in a dish filled with 1” water. Change water daily and watch what grows.

GROWNING CORN SEQUENCE CARDS
Select four medium-sized index cards.
Use crayons or markers to draw pictures on the cards that depict four stages in the growth of a corn plant.
1) Plant the seed
2) Watering the sprout
3) Viewing the tall, green corn plant in the sun
4) Picking the corn ears.
Mix up the cards and give them to your children to arrange in the proper order.
