TURKEY TREATS

ORANGE CUP TURKEY
You will need a large orange, some fruit salad, some celery leaves, a large toothpick and a carrot round for this snack.

Cut the orange in half and scoop out the center of the orange.

Chop up the inside of the orange and add it to your fruit salad.
Fill the orange halves with the fruit salad.
Set the orange half on a plate on top of a lettuce leaf.
Now, stick two or three celery leaves in the back of the cup for feathers.
Add a toothpick for a turkey neck and place a carrot round on the top of the toothpick for a head.
Break off a small section of another toothpick and add it to the carrot round for a beak.
Voila, an orange cup turkey.

GRAHAM CRACKER TURKEYS
First you will need to make some graham cracker dough.

GRAHAM CRACK DOUGH

Stir 1 cup graham flour, 1 cup whole wheat flour, ½ tsp. baking soda and ½ tsp. salt, in a large bowl.
Next, blend the following ingredients in a blender. ¼ cup apple juice concentrate, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 1 banana, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. cinnamon.
Then add the blender ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Now, divide the dough in half and roll out with a rolling pin on a floured surface.

MAKING THE TURKEYS

Cut the dough with a turkey cookie cutter.

Poke holes with a fork to make feathers and using one prong on the fork, poke in an eye.
Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees.
Serve plain with milk or let your children spread on peanut butter.

PEANUT BUTTER TURKEY SANDWICH
Spread peanut butter onto a piece of bread.
Lay the bread on a large plate.
Around the bottom end of the bread, lay alternately small carrots and celery sticks.
Then add a head and neck fashioned from a toothpick and a large grape.
Alternative: Make a regular peanut butter sandwich and use a large cookie cutter to cut the sandwich into a turkey shape.

TURKEY VEGETABLE PLATE
Make a turkey vegetable plate for your children to enjoy and eat.
Cut a large potato in half length-wise.
Lay one half on a large plate (flat side down).
Now use carrot and celery sticks to create feathers around one end of your turkey.
Use carrot sticks for legs, with ½ of an olive or cherry tomato as feet.
Use a slice of red pepper for a gullet, and black olive slices for eyes.
Decorate around the edge of the plate with other healthy veggie pieces.
Set out small cups of ranch dressing for your children to use for dipping.
