Summer’s child with sunburned nose
Freckled face and sandy toes.

Summer’s child with splashing feet
Keeping cool through summer’s heat.

Summer’s child with branches bent
Camping out in a blanket tent.

Summer’s child with skinned-up knees
Chasing flies and honey bees.

Summer’s child in fields of flowers
Dancing through the endless hours.

Summer’s child a smile can bring
For evermore remembering!
