BAND SONGS

TOWN MUSICIANS
Tune:  “Yankee Doodle”

Little musicians went to town
Playing in a band.
They made music as they went
All across the land.

Hear their music loud and clear.
Hear their marching feet.
I just love to hear the band
Marching down the street!
                      Jean Warren

MARCHING BAND
Tune:  “When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again”

The children are marching into town, hurray! hurray!
The children are marching in a Marching Band, today.
Some beat drums, some ring bells,
Some play guitars, it all sounds swell.
Oh, we’re oh so glad that the children could come today.

The children are marching into town, hurray! hurray!
The children play their instruments as they come our way.
Some play triangles, some tap sticks.
Some shake shakers, it’s quite a mix.

Oh, we’re oh so glad that the children could come today.

TAP, TAP, TAP YOUR STICKS
Tune:  “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”

Tap, tap, tap your sticks,
Tap your sticks today.
Tap them high,
Tap them low.
Tap them every way.

(Continue with other verses about different instruments.)
            Tap, tap, tap your cymbols.
            Ring, ring, ring your bells.
            Strum, strum, strum your drum.
            Tap, tap, tap your triangle.
            Etc.

ALL AROUND THE PLAY GROUND
Tune:  “Pop, Goes The Weasel”

All around the play ground
The children march and play.
They are in a marching band.
Wow! Hear them play!
