EARTH DAY SONGS

I’M AN EARTH DAY HELPER
Tune:  “Yankee Doodle”

I’m an Earth Day Helper
And I want to say.
We can care for the earth
Each and every day.

First we clean up litter,
And recycle, too!
Then we keep the air clean
And oceans nice and blue.

EARTH DAY PARADE
Tune:  “When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again”

The children are marching into town, hooray, hooray.
Today is Earth Day and they want to say,
Let’s keep the earth nice and clean,
Let’s keep the earth safe and green.
Oh, we’re oh, so glad that the children could come today.

The children are marching into town, hooray, hooray.
Some pick up litter as they come our way.
Some have poster, some have flags.
Some carry trees and grocery bags.
Oh, we’re oh, so glad that the children could come today.

LET’S USE, REUSE AND RECYCLE

Let’s use, reuse and recycle.
Let’s keep Earth as clean as can be.
The more we reuse, the less we abuse
Our wonderful land, air and sea.

PICKING UP LITTER
Tune:  “Paw, Paw Patch”

Picking up litter and put it in the trash can.
Picking up litter and put it in the trash can.
Picking up litter and put it in the trash can.
Way down yonder, at the city park.
                                    Adapted Traditional
(Have your children take turns deciding on new place
to pick up trash and incorporate it into a new verse of the song.)

ONCE THERE WAS A LITTER BUG
Tune:  “Eensy Weensey Spider”

Once there was a Litter Bug
Who went from town to town,
Throwing out garbage,
That landed on the ground.

The garbage grew so high
That when he turned around,
The Litter Bug got buried
And he was never found!

LET’S LIVE TOGETHER

Let’s live together on this earth
In peace and harmony.
Let’s share the abundance of the earth
And treat it lovingly!

From the forest, to the sea
To the clouds up high.
We promise to protect our earth
Land, water, sky!
