EGG PATTERN ACTIVITIES


RAINBOW EGGS
Cut out large egg shapes for your children.
Let them color their eggs with water colors.
  
EGG BOOKS
Use the large egg shape to cut out Egg Books for your children.
Use colored paper for the covers and white paper for the inside.
They can make an Egg Recipe book or an Animals That Come From Eggs book.
 
SHINY EGGS
Cut out large egg shapes for your children.
Then set out small cups of glue.
Add food coloring to the glue.
Have your children paint their eggs with the colored glue.
 
EGG SHELL EGGS
Rinse out some white egg shells.
Then smash up the shells.
Next, dye the egg shells in some egg dye (l or more colors)
Drain the shells and dry them.
Cut out some medium sized eggs for your children.
Have them cover their eggs with glue and sprinkle on colored shells.
 
TEXTURE MATCH-UP GAME
Using the medium egg pattern, cut out 12 eggs from 6 different types of fabric.
Set out the eggs and let your children take turns matching the eggs by the material's texture.
To make the game harder, use two different materials samples for each type of fabric.
 
COUNTING FELT EGGS
Cut out 8 small felt eggs and a felt basket.
Place the eggs in the basket and recite the following rhyme.

SIX EASTER EGGS
 
Six Easter eggs
Not one more.
Mom took two
That left four.

Four Easter eggs
Still quite a few
Dad took two
That left two.

Two Easter eggs
Oh, what fun.
I took two.
That left none.

COLOR MATCHING GAME
Cut out 12 eggs on white paper.
Paint 6 sets of eggs (6 different colors).
When dry, mix up the eggs and set them out for your children.
Have your children take turns finding color pairs.
 
CHALK EGGS
Cut out small white or colored paper eggs for your children.
Give them colored chalk and let them color their eggs.
 
MYSTERY EGGS
Cut out small eggs on white paper
Make pictures or designs on the eggs with a white crayon.
Give the eggs to your children and have them paint a light wash over their eggs to reveal the pictures or designs on their eggs.
A "wash" is paint that has been watered down.
